Janet Hamilton
About me
I am a qualified Integrative counsellor for individuals or couples, offering you a safe, supportive and non-judgemental environment.
It is easy to feel stuck and unable to make positive changes in your life. Sometimes, negative thought patterns can affect our ability to see things clearly, and this can affect our relationships, working life, our self-confidence and our self-belief. Knowing that you are not alone can help you begin the healing process. It is not always easy to discuss problems with people closest to us, but it can be very effective to talk to someone for support when life becomes overwhelming.
I will work together with you in a calm and sensitive manner, taking time and space to explore your thoughts and feelings, allowing a deeper understanding and a clearer sense of perspective. It is often helpful to talk to someone who is uninvolved with your personal life. You might have experienced family or relationship problems; bereavement; stress or anxiety; childhood issues; low self-esteem; you may be seeking clarity for personal growth; or many other issues.
Counselling does not aim to offer advice. I will work together with you, at your own pace, to help you to re-evaluate and discover the best way for you to make changes which can improve your life and relationships.
I am experienced in working with couples and with individuals. I work from home in a confidential and relaxing environment in Great Dunmow.
I have been a Counsellor for a number of years. I previously worked in Finance, giving me many years’ experience of different working environments. I believe this gives me a grounded approach to working with individuals.
I am an Accredited Member of the National Counselling Society. I am a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and bound by its ethical guidelines for good practice. I am an Applied EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) Practitioner. I am fully insured.
